Agatha McLean creates interiors that are sophisticated, original, and deeply personal. With a mastery of colour and an instinct for blending vintage finds, bespoke furnishings, and treasured heirlooms, she designs spaces that feel layered, timeless, and effortlessly stylish.

As Co-Partner of the studio, Amy Ruttan brings structure, clarity, and intention to every aspect of our work. With deep expertise in operations, project management, and procurement, she ensures that every design journey runs smoothly — from the first conversation to the final installation.
Her talent lies in transforming vision into action, managing timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, and all the intricate logistics that bring our spaces to life. She’s also the go-to point of contact for our clients, offering a calm, communicative presence throughout each phase of the process.
BAK STUDIO has its own Muskoka based sewing and upholstery studio specializing in high quality, beautifully finished furnishings. Our high standards come from a European background and education in sewing using old-world standards and techniques. Over the last 20 years, our experienced techniques have been sought after by many design firms and clientele. The sewing studio allows us to design in house custom furniture and provide our clients with a magnitude of custom related services. We’re dedicated to providing beautifully crafted and innovative interior furnishings.
We are staffed to sew fine quality window treatments, bedding, slipcovers, roman blinds and other soft furnishings for both residential and commercial interiors. Our studio has hundreds of fabric samples and fabric books and we also carry several drapery hardware lines.
We selectively partner with the best in the industry to provide the most up to date motorized options in drapery and blinds.
